CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations Division in Lowder, IL. We are looking for a Location Manager (Grain and Agronomy) to establish operating policies consistent with the General Manager's broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, possess strong relationship building skills, and have the ability to bring cross-functional teams together.You will:Manage multi-million dollar agronomy plant operations and grain facility operations according to divisional objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit.Act as the liaison between the General Manager and department managers, developing and implementing procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.Manage the elevator operations according to divisional objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit.Coordinate movement of grain, receiving, grading, loading, and storage among elevator facilities to maximize profitability and meet objectives of General Manager. Educate both employees and patrons in the operations of the cooperative and CHS business objectives to enhance employee effectiveness and improve member relations.Establish and implement short-term goals consistent with long range plans for growth in operation, including facility, equipment, and personnel while utilizing staff/equipment within CHS to provide excellent customer service satisfaction.Supervise staff through responsible training, clear job assignment definition, and explanation while monitoring work of all employees to correct deficient performance and effectively reward and develop all employees.Assist in developing budget and asset needs, manage approved operating budget.Keep abreast of market conditions and area crop conditions to minimize exposure and maximize profitability.Evaluate and make recommendations to improve existing programs of elevator housekeeping, safety and equipment maintenance to avoid breakdowns and limit safety hazards. Maintain all related record keeping logs.Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the General Manager.Maintain record keeping logs on all elevator equipment including legs, conveyors, grain cleaner, vehicles and all facility equipment.Oversee, monitor, and enforce all company policies and procedures.Oversee the accurate weighing, grading, binning, dumping and pricing of incoming grain. Oversee the blending, unloading, and load-out of trucks and rail cars. Complete the required documentation while monitoring stored grain conditions and maintain quality of inventory.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed.Work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor’s degree in an Agriculture related program (additional years of experience may offset education requirement)5 plus years of production agriculture and Coop management experienceSupervisory experienceAbility to lift 75 lbs, climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and binsAbility to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobileAbility to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperaturesValid Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Understand basic business principals of inventory management.
